Mid-States Rubber is a leader in custom rubber and plastic products, specializing in molding and extruding rubber and plastic parts for heavy industries.
The project highlighted here was designed for use in the material handling industry and manufactured from a client’s 2D CAD drawing. It was composed of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber due to the polymer’s stability to oxidation and resistance to brake fluid, gas permeability, water, and moderate concentrations of chemicals. Cold feed extruded with in-line curing and cutting to exact specifications where the processes applied by an advanced extruder, and the expert staff provided custom packaging. The part featured dimensions of 106″ long, 6″wide and 2.4″ tall, with a tightest tolerance of RMA A3. All work was done to customer specifications and to the standards set by the Rubber Manufacturing Association. The project represents a total run of 3,000 pieces, which were delivered in three to four weeks.
